Ötztaler Cycle Marathon
The ultimate Ötztaler Cycle Marathon with start and finish in Sölden/Tirol ranks among the highlights in the yearly event calendar. The best hobby sportsmen world-wide get together here for their chance at glory. More than 4000 athletes participate in the marathon. We are proud that the Ötztal plays host to this outstanding sports event. In only 3 minutes on bike you are in the starting area of the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon.
Course: Start in Sölden – Oetz 800 m – Kühtai 2,020 m – Innsbruck 600 m – Brenner pass 1,374 m – Sterzing 960 m – Jaufen pass 2,090 m – St. Leonhard / Passeiertal 700 m – Timmelsjoch pass 2,509 m – Sölden 1,377 m.
Mountain stages:
- Oetz-Kühtai: 18.5 km, altitude gain 1,200 m, refreshment station at km 51
- Innsbruck-Brenner: 39 km, altitude gain 777 m, refreshment station at km 127
- Sterzing-Jaufenpass: 15,5 km, altitude gain 1130 m, refreshment station at km 161
- St. Leonhard-Timmelsjoch: 28,7 km, altitude gain 1759, refreshment stations at km 201 and km 209
4 Alpine passes:
Kühtai, Brenner, Jaufen pass and Timmelsjoch. The entire route covers 238 km and 5,500 m of altitude change, including 66 hairpin bends. Level stages 42 km, ascending stages 99 km, descending stages 97 km.
